Patience is the Fruit of the Spirit

I once wrote about standing firm and pursuing hope on my face-book,
“It's true that life can be really hard but don't ever give up on your tomorrows, The best is yet to come!”
I received different comments on it. Some agreed and others disagreed.
Most people give up just when they're about to achieve success. They give up at the last minute. But this is not what God expects from us, He calls us more than a conqueror and gives us the spirit of patience.
Read Galatians 5:22-23, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,
self–control. Against such there is no law.
How will we define Patience?
Why didn’t they like the idea that God is still working on their
behalf and He will bring the best in their lives?
There may be two answers to this
1.      They do not know Him.
2.      They had more failures
Patience is the ability and willingness to endure waiting without
complaining or being upset when faced with a difficult or challenging situation.
Read Romans 5:3-4, Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, We have been studying about the fruit of the spirit of God.
Let’s group them in three's.
First group-love, joy and peace, it deals with the importance of our relationship with God and men. There is no way that you can say I love God, and hate man. Think about it, you actually hate what God loves the most?
Second group-Patience, kindness and goodness, it deals with our social qualities. It is related to our thoughts and actions toward others or our attitude.
The third group- faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, it deals
with our responsibility. We are accountable before God for our
actions.
Let’s read about Joseph, he had amazing level of patience.
Read Genesis 37:1-11, 12-36
39:10, 17-18, 20,
40:4, 41:46-47
Many things happened in Joseph’s life from the age of 17 to 30
1.      God gave him a dream of greatness
2.      His brothers were jealous
3.      They tried to kill him
4.      He was sold to a trader
5.      Later he was sold to the Egyptian
6.      His master’s wife forces him to try to commit adultery
7.      He was accused falsely
8.      He was put in the prison
9.      He was blessed there
10.     He was made an attendant to the servants of the king
11.     He interprets kings dream
12.     He was appointed as the prime minister
How did he have the stamina to stand firm?
When we go through the tough time faith alone can not work, you need patience. If you don’t have patience you won’t be able to stand firm and this way you might delay your promised destiny.
Read 2 Corinthians 6:4-6, Rather, as servants of God we commend
ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work,
sleepless nights and hunger; in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love;…….
Patience means trusting in God in the time of your trials
Read James 5:7,8, Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near
Do you believe in the law of sowing and reaping? Then you exercise your faith and let God do the rest
Sowing will bring reaping, hold tight and wait upon the Lord
Remember you cannot grow anything in your strength; it is God who works behind the scene. His holy spirit is there to help you.
Hold unto God cry out to Him, trust Him and tell Him your crises
God has an answer for you
Read 2 Corinthians 6:2, 2For he says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you."I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation.
Today is your appointed time, today is your healing, today is your
deliverance so give all to him and trust.
Prayer- As per Galatians 6:9, Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Dear Heavenly Father we ask you in Jesus’ name that help us to walk with you, know you more, grow stronger each day and learn to trust in you alone. God give us patience to endure hardships and know that you are always working behind the scene on our behalf.
Amen
